Dandy Killeen joined TFPR after spending more than three decades in the broadcast news industry. A multiple Emmy Award winner, he served as Executive Producer of Sports at KTVT CBS 11 for more than 24 years and previously spent nearly a decade at KDFW FOX 4.
Finding compelling stories, breaking news, and delivering accurate information were the hallmarks of Killeen’s broadcasting career. He covered multiple Super Bowls, NBA Finals, World Series, and Stanley Cup Finals. He also worked closely with the Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Mavericks, Texas Rangers, and Dallas Stars, producing pregame and postgame programming for each franchise.
Killeen helped create and develop the Landry Award, annually honoring North Texas’ top high school football player. Named for late Pro Football Hall of Fame coach Tom Landry, the award was first presented in 2010 and has recognized some of Texas’ most accomplished student-athletes, including Kyler Murray and Myles Garrett.
A proud graduate of the University of North Texas, Killeen was born and raised in Dallas and continues to call the “Big D” home with his wife. He enjoys visiting family on both the East and West Coasts as often as possible.
